Max loved to swing from tree to tree and eat delicious fruits. One day, while enjoying his favorite mango, he noticed a crocodile named Carl watching him from the river below.
Carl, the crocodile, was hungry and thought of a plan to catch Max.

Carl said, “Hey Max, I heard there’s a tree on the other side of the river with the juiciest fruits. Would you like to come with me and try them?”
Max, being clever, knew that Carl might be up to something. But he decided to play along. “Sure, Carl! But how will I get across the river?”
Carl replied, “You can ride on my back. I’ll take you there safely.”
Max agreed and hopped onto Carl’s back. As they reached the middle of the river, Carl grinned and said, “Max, I’m actually planning to eat you for dinner!”
Max quickly thought of a plan.

He said, “Oh no, Carl! I left my heart back on the tree. If you want to eat me, you’ll need to let me go back and get it.”
Carl, not being very bright, believed Max and swam back to the shore. As soon as they reached the shore, Max jumped off and climbed up the tree.
Max laughed and said, “You should never trust a crocodile!”
