In a quaint antique shop on the outskirts of Dhawalāgiri, there was a peculiar mirror that no one dared to buy. The shopkeeper, an old man named Hari, warned everyone that the mirror was cursed. It was said to trap the souls of those who gazed into it for too long.
One day, a young woman named Anjali, fascinated by the mirror’s ornate frame, decided to purchase it despite the warnings. She brought it home and hung it in her bedroom, admiring its beauty. As she was getting ready for bed that night, she noticed something strange. The mirror's reflection seemed to move independently, independent of her actions.
Curious and a bit unnerved, Anjali leaned closer. Suddenly, the room around her grew cold, and she felt a chilling presence behind her. She turned around, but there was no one there. Looking back at the mirror, she saw a shadowy figure standing behind her reflection, its eyes glowing with a sinister light.
Terrified, Anjali tried to look away, but she found herself unable to move. The figure in the mirror began to whisper her name, its voice echoing in her mind. “Anjali… Anjali…” The whispers grew louder and more insistent, filling her with dread.
Desperate to escape, Anjali mustered all her strength and broke free from the mirror’s grip. She covered the mirror with a cloth and ran out of the room, her heart pounding. The next morning, she returned to the antique shop and demanded to know more about the mirror.
Hari sighed and told her the story. The mirror had once belonged to a powerful sorcerer who used it to trap the souls of his enemies. After his death, the mirror was passed down through generations, bringing misfortune to anyone who owned it.
Determined to rid herself of the cursed object, Anjali and Hari performed a ritual to break the mirror’s hold. As they chanted the incantations, the mirror began to crack, and the shadowy figure inside let out a blood-curdling scream. With a final shatter, the mirror broke into pieces, releasing the trapped souls.
From that day on, Anjali felt a sense of peace. The haunted mirror was no more, and the spirits it had imprisoned were finally free. The antique shop, however, remained a place of mystery, with many more secrets waiting to be uncovered.
